Our Story

We began with one classroom under a tree.

Founded in 2006 with guidance from Jnana Prabodhini, Pune — we started with a single school for seasonal migrant children. From there grew schools for rag-pickers, children of Gopal cattle-herders, construction and head-loader families.

Today our work spans education, environment, science, women's empowerment, and support for orphaned and differently-abled children — across more than fifteen villages of the sugar belt.

My daughter never held a pencil before Sanvad came to our cane field. Today she writes her own name in Marathi and English.

I volunteered for one week and stayed for three years. These children rewrote what I thought hope meant.

Sanvad's सेतूशाळा brought me back to school after my family migrated. I am now in college.
